Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) 2022 is your chance to delve into exciting research developments and hear top GI experts share their real-life experiences during original scientific sessions. With a variety of educational topics and session formats, you’ll be able to access the information you need, in your preferred learning format. Below, we’ve broken down types of sessions you can expect to see at this year’s meeting. For a full list of session types, visit the DDW website.

The DDW Virtual™ platform will include access to 64 key sessions livestreamed and on demand. The full schedule for these sessions will be available on the DDW website in the coming weeks.

Invited-Speaker Sessions

Organized by the each of the four sponsoring societies, these sessions feature some of the most prestigious experts in their fields. Examples include:

  • Clinical and translational symposium: AASLD, AGA, AASLD and SSAT offer jointly sponsored symposia on topics of broad interest to DDW attendees.
  • Postgraduate course: AGA and ASGE offer the ticketed one-day, multi-topic course as their flagship live educational offering.
  • State-of-the-art lecture: Hear from one keynote speaker on a given topic, typically with time for questions and answers.

Abstract-Based Sessions

Discover the latest research findings from accepted and late-breaking abstracts during these sessions. Examples include:

  • Late-breaking abstract plenary:Review the most up-to-date research, submitted and reviewed just prior to the meeting.
  • Video plenary: Watch the most prestigious and highest-ranking, cutting-edge video abstracts submitted to ASGE and SSAT.
  • Research forum: These 90-minute sessions feature multiple abstract presentations and often an invited keynote speaker.

Industry Programming

We’ll also be offering programing by our trusted industry partners, including:

  • Product Theater: 45-minute pre-recorded sessions about the latest GI products and services. These sessions do not offer CME credit, but they are a valuable chance to keep up to date with the newest technology in the field.
  • Satellite Symposium: Educational programs before or after DDW scientific sessions, often offering CME credit to attendees.
  • In-Conjunction with (ICW) Meetings: Ancillary meetings, held at participating hotels and other nearby venues, that are arranged by industry supporters, third party planners, educational institutions or other non-profit organizations.
