Session Description

The lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS) is a revolutionary device recently developed in gastrointestinal endoscopy. The LAMS was initially designed for trans luminal drainage of peripancreatic fluid collections and necrosis, but more recently, the indications for use are rapidly expanding and allow minimally invasive approaches for the treatment of pancreaticobiliary diseases including endoscopic gastrojejunostomy for gastric outlet or duodenal obstruction, endoscopic-directed transgastric ERCP (EDGE), and biliary bypass.

This session will review state-of-the-art treatment of pancreaticobiliary disease with LAMS and describe both the benefits, complications and long-term risks of these novel endoscopic approaches.

This session is included in the cost of registration for DDW 2021 and will be available to watch on demand until Aug. 23, 2021. Discounted registration rates are available through March 31. View the DDW Online Planner for the full DDW agenda over May 21-23.
